Description
Desensitizers are used to treat dentin hypersensitivity. Dentin hypersensitivity is caused by the exposure of dentinal tubules to the oral environment, leading to sensitivity symptoms when external stimuli (usually cold, hot, sour, sweet) cause abnormal fluid flow in the dentinal tubules. Clinically, it usually manifests as short-term severe pain.
